چکیده

The serial analysis of gene expression (SAGE) is a powerful method to compare gene expression of mRNA populations. To provide quantitative expression levels on a genome-wide scale, the Cancer Genome Anatomy Project (CGAP) uses SAGE. Over 7 million SAGE tags, from 171 human cell types have been assembled. The growing number of laboratories involved in SAGE research necessitates the use of software that provides statistical analysis of raw data, allowing the rapid visualization and interpretation of results. We have created the first simple tool that performs statistical analysis on SAGE data, identifies the tags differentially expressed and shows the results in a scatter plot. It is freely available and accessible at http://bioserv.rpbs.jussieu.fr/websage/index.php.

Comparison between the gene expression profile of human Müller cells and two spontaneous Müller cell lines.

PURPOSE Müller cells are the principal glial cells in the retina. They play important functions in this tissue. Alterations in Müller cell behavior were observed in the retinal tissue of patients with proliferative diabetic retinopathy. The purpose of this study was to determine the gene expression profile of normal human Müller cells (NHMCs) and to compare it with that of two spontaneously gen...

Analysis of Gene Expression in Human Prostate Cancer Identification of Differentially Expressed Genes by Serial

Prostate cancer is the leading cause of cancer death in American males. To better understand the genetic bases of this disease, we have generated a comprehensive molecular profile of human prostate. The gene expression pattern in normal and prostate cancer tissues was analyzed by serial analysis of gene expression (SAGE). A total of 133,217 transcripts were analyzed, and 35,185 distinct SAGE ta...

Systematic enrichment analysis of microRNA expression profiling studies in endometriosis

Objective(s): The purpose of this study was to conduct a meta-analysis on human microRNAs (miRNAs) expression data of endometriosis tissue profiles versus those of normal controls and to identify novel putative diagnostic markers. Materials andMethods: PubMed, Embase, Web of Science, Ovid Medline were used to search for endometriosis miRNA expression profiling studies of endometriosis. The miRN...

A comparative molecular analysis of developing mouse forelimbs and hindlimbs using serial analysis of gene expression (SAGE).

The analysis of differentially expressed genes is a powerful approach to elucidate the genetic mechanisms underlying the morphological and evolutionary diversity among serially homologous structures, both within the same organism (e.g., hand vs. foot) and between different species (e.g., hand vs. wing). In the developing embryo, limb-specific expression of Pitx1, Tbx4, and Tbx5 regulates the de...
